In the next few days the forests of the E.C Manning Provincial Park, in South B.C. will be crowded with hikers supporting a strong cause; making an ill child’s wish come true. The Trailblaze Challenge is an outdoor event organized by the Make-a-Wish Foundation. The main goal of this one-day event is to raise enough funds to grant the wish of every eligible child, aged 3 to 17, living with a critical illness in British Columbia and Yukon.
The Trailblaze Challenge
The challenge is an endurance event; a 40k hike where participants need to raise at least $2,000 to help Make-a-Wish to achieve the fundraising goal. The foundation will provide the hikers with all the necessary tools to help them succeed. On the Trailblaze website, the general public can donate for a specific attendant, that can make a campaign using his or her personal contacts and social media to boost the results. Currently, over $65,000 have been raised among 36 participants.
